Big Plans For 2012

With all the money I got from christmas and soon for my birthday I will be getting a new camera just in time for the farm show yay! Also I will be ordering Susan Bensema Young's guide to makeing model horse tack along with some supplies from Rio Rondo! I plan on learning how to build model wagons so some model books will also be on my list. As for that Pegasus and unicorn sculpture the wire forms are takeing shape wings are harder to sculpt then I thought theres also an american saddlebred in the works looks like I will be very busy this year. Soon to come are pictures from the PA state farm show I should have them posted by the end of January.

A Day Of First

So today I was making pizza from scratch for the first time just as I was buttering the garlic bread to go with it my house started to shake like our neighbors we walked out side after going on facebook I learned that here in Reading Pa there was a 5.9 earthquake! Lucky for us our mobile home that sits on cinderblocks was not damaged or off its supports that was my first and hopefully last earthquake.

A minor set back

Next week starts my last year at Muhlenberg High School the part that I will miss the most is my votech shop Im a horticulture student at Reading Muhlenberg votech I love it I get to spend half the day in a greenhouse instead of a class room. In other news Im getting a blood test this fall this means a week of no studio work :( my arm always gets very sore for about a week everytime I get one plus on top I may be animic this will explain why ive bin so tired lately I just have to wait and see what happens.

The Best Is Yet To Come part 2

 Here are the pics that go with my last post this is summer sadly the cinnamon bun is bigger than her so she cant run off with it this upsets her greatly although she does try to sneek a few bites lol.

 I forgot to mention I took in a hamster from a friend who saved it from someone who was going to feed the poor thing to a snake. She still doesnt have a name so far she loves the 2 cages and the many tunnels she has to explore hopefully we figure out a name soon.

 Here is the inspiration for the epic unicorn vs pegasus battle im thinking a large scale for this and evil unicorn on bottom good pegasus on top first I have to do some drawings to decide how im going to do this its looking like a sculpted base will be best to keep pegasus on his feet.

 And last but not least is the medallion im working on as you can see it needs alot more work the poor thing has no ears or mane at this rate he may have a fall release but with school starting in a week progress might slow down a bit my goal is to have him ready before winter break so I can work on the epic battle sculpture :)

The Best Is Yet To Come

The blog is getting a new look compete with a brand new logo I just downloaded gimp to work on the logo when it is finished it will be the new look for the studio. Im currently  working on a medallion pics will come soon and my other hobby baking last night I made some giant cinnamon buns yum! I will also work on the haflinger  again soon I also have an idea for epic unicorn vs pegasus battle more details on that will come in the near future :) hehe

Today its all about legs

Today's focus was the legs on my haflinger sculpture starting with the hind legs I still have the front legs to work on lets take a look at whats done so far. I sculpted the bones it is hard to see but then i drew lines on the bones for measurements to make sure both legs are the same lengths after any adjustments then i can start on the front legs I cant wait to see how this little guy or girl turns out :)

Great collection of horse refrence books

I now have a bigger wishlist after looking at this website this years christmas tree may just have all books under it mabey a new model or two only about 6 months away cant wait :)

My visit to Fort Riley Kansas

This weekend me and my dad visted fort riley near junction city kansas it was for his desert storm reunion. This was the first time I was there since I was 3 years old im 18 now and even though I dont remember much fort riley still feels like home all I have from the 3 years I lived there are a few pictures but now I have memories to last a life time and im happy to say my family is already planing a return trip to the area I cant wait to go back! :)

My return to the model horse hoby

Its bin a long time since my last post between school and research for both a new sculpture and wagons that I will hopefully be buying plans for and starting soon its bin hard to find any time for blogger so im happy to share some photos I took about a month ago when visiting family in Tamaqua PA.
